“In step with the Gospel”

May 10, 2026    Jamie Maxim

In Galatians 2:11–21, Paul confronts Peter over a moment when his actions drifted “out of step with the gospel.” This message explores how justification by faith is not only the foundation of salvation but also the power that shapes how we live, relate to others, and walk with Christ daily. Through Peter’s failure, we see how easy it is to seek approval from people instead of resting in the finished work of Jesus. Yet Paul reminds us that we are not justified by performance or religious effort, but by faith in Christ alone. The gospel does more than forgive us—it unites us to Christ, transforms our identity, and teaches us to live by faith every day. Ultimately, this passage points us to the Savior who moved toward sinners and made a place for us at His table.
